This MILC camera has the 2nd highest pixel-count after the Sony Nex7. So how does it stack up against the competition?
"From our image tests, the best results were expected to be from ISO 100 to ISO 800. Those who enjoy shooting in
ambient light would be pleased to know that the NX200 does quite well up to ISO 1,600, which was the tipping point for us. Nevertheless, we felt that at ISO 3,200, the image was still usable with some artefacts and softening of detail, but should be sufficient for A4 prints. Compared with the Canon EOS 600D and Sony's NEX-5N, samples shot at ISO 3,200 from the NX200 looked grainier with noticeable chroma noise in the 100 percent crop. Although the NX200 doesn't beat the NEX-5N and 600D, we observed that the new sensor has a one stop exposure improvement at high ISOs over the sensor found in previous NX models."
No longer the stuff of rumors, here's the E-M5 straight from the horse's mouth:
So, let's see what we've got so far:
Dials! Dials everywhere, OM-D=Oh My Dials? Olympus really means business with this one. No fancy designer needed here, just the best example of retrography this editor has ever seen, and yes, i include all the recent Fujifilms, and the Panasonic GX1.
