Canon EOS big guns image quality shootout

5dmk2It may look like a (sub)pixel-peeping feast, but still a very good read. No wonder why the 1D MkIII was left out of the shootout, these guys are landscape photographers. From Miles Hecker @ wyufoto.com: "So, to sum it up, it seems that the coventional wisdom holds. Big pixels are better pixels, at least when the final output is a relatively large print. Crop sensor cameras have advantages in the reach department, for telephoto work, but not for overall quality. We won't argue the point that full sensor cameras require higher quality lenses to resolve detail across the whole frame. It certainly is true, and lens selection is critical for best results from the 5Dmk2 or Sony A900. We won't debate the merits of a 1 series body versus the 5Dmk2, thats beyond the scope of this test." Link
